FunFam 57: O-methyltransferase ZRP4

There are 7 EC terms in this cluster

Please note: EC annotations are assigned to the full protein sequence rather than individual protein domains. Since a given protein can contain multiple domains, it is possible that some of the annotations below come from additional domains that occur in the same protein, but have been classified elsewhere in CATH.

Note: The search results have been sorted with the annotations that are found most frequently at the top of the list. The results can be filtered by typing text into the search box at the top of the table.

EC Term Annotations Evidence
Acetylserotonin O-methyltransferase. [EC: 2.1.1.4]
S-adenosyl-L-methionine + N-acetylserotonin = S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine + melatonin.
  • Some other hydroxyindoles also act as acceptor, more slowly.

Isoflavone 7-O-methyltransferase. [EC: 2.1.1.150]
S-adenosyl-L-methionine + a 7-hydroxyisoflavone = S-adenosyl-L- homocysteine + a 7-methoxyisoflavone.
  • The enzyme from alfalfa can methylate daidzein, genistein and 6,7,4'-trihydroxyisoflavone but not flavones or flavanones.
1 Q84KK5
Flavonoid 3',5'-methyltransferase. [EC: 2.1.1.267]
(1) S-adenosyl-L-methionine + a 3'-hydroxyflavonoid = S-adenosyl-L- homocysteine + a 3'-methoxyflavonoid. (2) S-adenosyl-L-methionine + a 5'-hydroxy-3'-methoxyflavonoid = S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine + a 3',5'-dimethoxyflavonoid.
  • Isolated from Vitis vinifera (grape).
  • Most active with delphinidin 3-glucoside but also acts on cyanidin 3-glucoside, cyanidin, myricetin, quercetin and quercetin 3-glucoside.
  • The enzyme from Catharanthus roseus was most active with myricetin.
  • Formerly EC 2.1.1.149.
1 Q8GSN1
5-pentadecatrienyl resorcinol O-methyltransferase. [EC: 2.1.1.n7]
S-adenosyl-L-methionine + (8Z,11Z)-5-(pentadeca-8,11,14-trien-1- yl)resorcinol = S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine + (8Z,11Z)-5-(pentadeca- 8,11,14-trien-1-yl)resorcinol-3-methyl ether.
  • In Sorghum, this enzyme is part of the biosynthetic pathway of the phytotoxin sorgoleone.
1 A8QW53
Flavonoid 4'-O-methyltransferase. [EC: 2.1.1.231]
S-adenosyl-L-methionine + a 4'-hydroxyflavanone = S-adenosyl-L- homocysteine + a 4'-methoxyflavanone.
  • The enzyme catalyzes the 4'-methylation of naringenin.
  • In vitro it catalyzes the 4'-methylation of apigenin, quercetin, daidzein and genistein.
1 C6TAY1
Trans-resveratrol di-O-methyltransferase. [EC: 2.1.1.240]
2 S-adenosyl-L-methionine + trans-resveratrol = 2 S-adenosyl-L- homocysteine + pterostilbene.
  • The enzyme catalyzes the biosynthesis of pterostilbene from resveratrol.
