The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_4_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was: waiting to be named.

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: DsrC protein, N-terminal domain

Members of this protein family include TusE, a partner to TusBCD in a sulphur relay system for 2-thiouridine biosynthesis, a tRNA base modification process PMID:16387657. Other members are DsrC PMID:18829451, a functionally similar protein in species where the sulphur relay system exists primarily for sulphur metabolism PMID:22815818, rather than tRNA base modification. Some members of this family are known explicitly as the gamma subunit of sulphite reductases.
