The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_4_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Ribosomal protein L33
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Ribosomal protein L33

Structural domains comprising this superfamily share the structure of the ribosomal protein L33, found in the large ribosomal subunit. In Escherichia coli, L33 has been shown to be on the surface of 50S subunit. Homologues are wide spread among all domains of life and their are classified based on sequence similarity in three groups: eubacterial L33, algal and plant chloroplast L33 and cyanelle L33
