RDM1 protein domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: RDM1 protein domain

RDM1 is a regulator of RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM) in Arabidopsis. According to literature, it may have a role in linking siRNA production with pre-existing or de novo cytosine methylation. As part of the DDR complex with two other RdDM components, it has been shown to facilitate association of PolV to chromatin. The most representative protein in the superfamily shows no structural homology to any other known proteins and represents a new fold in protein conformation space.
