Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Oxygen-evolving enhancer protein 3 (PsbQ), four-helix up-down bundle

This superfamily includes the four-helix up-down bundle, usually located at the C-terminus of the plant specific oxygen evolving enhancer protein 3 PsbQ. According to literature, PsbQ a regulator that plays an important role in the biogenesis of the multi-subunit complex PSII (Photosystem II). The oxygen evolving enhancer protein 3 (OEE3) PsbQ is part of the oxygen-evolving complex (OEC) of PSII, whose main role is to oxidise water to oxygen and protons.
