JBP1, DNA-binding domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: JBP1, DNA-binding domain

The J-binding protein 1 (JBP1) is essential for biosynthesis and maintenance of DNA base-J specific to some pathogenic protozoa. JBP1 recognises J-DNA through a DNA-Binding JBP1 domain (DB-JBP1) that has a helix-turn-helix (HTH) fold, a 'helical bouquet' with a 'ribbon' helix involved in DNA binding. DOI:10.1093/nar/gkr125
