The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Leukocidin/Hemolysin toxin, cytolysin domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Leukocidin/Hemolysin toxin, cytolysin domain

This superfamily includes the cytolysin domain and the beta-trefoil lectin domain characterised in Vibrio cholerae cytolysin (VCC) pro-toxin.

The cytolysin domain is the structural and functional core of the VCC molecule and has a fold strikingly similar to the Staph LukF water-soluble monomer and alpha-hemolysin protomer.
