The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was: waiting to be named.

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Autophagy-related protein 31

Autophagy is an intracellular degradation system that responds to nutrient starvation. Atg31 has been shown to be required for autophagosome formation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae PMID:17362880. It functions with Atg17 and Atg29 at the preautophagosomal structure (PAS) in order to form normal autophagosomes under starvation conditions PMID:18287526.
