The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Transcriptional regulator CtsR, C-terminal domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Transcriptional repressor of class III stress genes, C-terminal domain

According to the literature, members of the structural domains which comprise this superfamily correspond to the structure of CtsR, an important repressor that modulates the transcription of class III stress genes in Gram-positive bacteria, mainly from Firmicute species. This domain is annotated in IntePro as a as a single chain domain whilst according to CATH it is comprised of 2 subdomains. Thus, the term C-terminal domain has been included for specificity. Its function however remains unknown PMID:19498169.
