".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Chaperone lipoprotein PulS/OutS

This superfamily consists of 4 alpha helices.

The 4 helices are arranged into a slightly elongated, C-shaped helical bundle.

Within PulS, the helices form a binding groove which interact with a disordered region on another protein, PulD, to form a PulS-PulD complex. PulD then oligomerises into a dodecameric outer membrane complex in the formation of a type II secretion system.
