Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Dcp2, box A domain

This superfamily represents the box A domain specific to mRNA decapping protein 2, Dcp2, the catalytic subunit of the mRNA-decapping enzyme PMID:12218187. Removal of the cap structure is mediated by the Dcp1-Dcp2 complex. This domain is found at the N-terminus of the NUDIX hydrolase domain (INTERPRO:IPR000086, PFAM:PF00293).
