The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:
"CpcT forms a dimer and adopts a calyx-shaped beta-barrel fold. Each CpcT subunit adopts a conical, goblet-shaped beta-barrel with 10 anti-parallel beta-strands; this fold is characteristic for the FABP subfamily of the calycin superfamily. It has been shown that CpcT encodes a bilin lyase responsible for the covalent attachment of phycocyanobilin to the beta subunit of phycocyanin. PMID:17895251,PMID:16644722. In the chromatically adapting cyanobacterium Fremyella diplosiphon, the proteins have been shown to be induced by green light, as part of the cpeCDESTR operon PMID:12067341.
