"
Phosphoglycerate kinase, N-terminal domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Phosphoglycerate kinase, N-terminal domain

According to the literature, members of the structural domains which comprise this superfamily correspond to the structure of the N-terminal domain of phosphoglycerate kinase. This enzyme catalyses the reversible conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate in glycolysis, process which is linked to the phosphorylation of ADP and, as a consequence, ATP is generated. This domain is annotated in InterPro as the substrate binding domain (PFAM:PF00162).
