Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Ribosomal protein L30/S12

This superfamily entry comprises a structural domain found in a large diversity of species, such as ribosomal protein L30 from eukaryotes and archaebacteria, ribosomal protein L7A from metazoa, ribosomal protein L8-A and L8-B from fungi, 30S ribosomal protein HS6 from archaebacteria, 40S ribosomal protein S12 from eukaryotes, Gadd45 and MyD118. It is found as the N-terminal domain in a variety of bacterial and mitochondrial RNA 2'-O ribose methyltransferases and as the C-terminal domain of the release factor eRF1.
