The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_4_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Transmembrane protein 14-like
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Transmembrane protein 14-like

The name has been chosen based on UniProt-SwissProt entries which highlight that the structural domains which comprise this superfamily are either transmembrane proteins 14 or related and thus this name seems to be the best to represent all members of this superfamily.

According to the literature, the superfamily representative domain corresponds to the C-terminus of the transmembrane proteins 14. However, this has not been included in the superfamily name since it is cannot be demonstrated that this is true for all members.
